Annual Church Meeting – Sunday 25th October. |
We will be holding our Annual Church Meeting on Sunday 25th October, after our morning service. |
Online Church Meeting Evening – Friday 23rd October |
An annual meeting needs time to examine reports, ask questions etc. This is an important time for you the community of All Saints to hear about the Church Life, to share encouragements, to raise concerns, to hear about the past year and in what direction we are going in. This would mean that our Annual Church Meeting would be at least 90 minutes in length. Due to the issue of the Coronavirus, the Council and I, would like to make our Actual AGM as short as possible, while physically gathered, in the interests of hygiene and safety. To do this, we would like to hold a Zoom meeting. On Friday 23rd October. At 2000 until 2130. This does not replace the Annual Meeting. This online meeting is organized to allow information to be shared, questions to be asked etc. This would shorten greatly the length of the AGM on 25th October. How will this Online Church Meeting run? During our online meeting, we will follow the Agenda that normally is followed on an AGM. After an opening prayer, the various reports will be presented. These are the reports: Electoral roll Secretary’s report (on the activity of the Council in the past year) Wardens Report (on the life of All Saints in the past year, and information on the past year on a search for a church building) Synod Report (once a year gathering of representatives from the chaplaincies in the Benelux) Financial report on accounts of 2019 and budget for 2020 from our treasurer. Safeguarding report. These reports will be sent out by email, a week in advance to allow you time to read them. It will be assumed you have read the reports when we come to the relevant section in the Online Meeting. The relevant person will share the report. And take and respond to your questions. No votes will be taken on that Online evening. Notes will be taken of the general discussion of the evening. On the Sunday AGM (25th October), the intention will be to move through the formal items as quickly as we can. Questions can be raised, on the day, but we ask that if you do have questions, we would ask you attend the Zoom Online Meeting, and ask the questions there. Online will be a more relaxed place to ask and hear from the relevant person, and allow more time for response and discussion. Online Church Meeting. Friday 23rd October. 2000-2130. Via Zoom. The link will be in the email newsletter or in the church Whatsapp group. |
Reminder, at Annual General Meeting, we elect our wardens and church council members. The deadline for nominations to council or to serve as warden must be received by Sunday 18th October. |
