Chaplaincy Confirmation Service

Those confirmed last year (March 2017) with Bishop Robert Innes (our Diocesan Bishop of Europe) and Revd David Phillips, the chaplain of Holy Trinity, Utrecht

Chaplaincy Confirmation Service.

The Church of England states: “Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey at which you affirm for yourself the faith into which you have been baptized and your intention to live a life of committed discipleship. This affirmation is confirmed through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming bishop. The Church also asks God to give you power through the Holy Spirit to enable you to live in the way of Jesus.” Taken from the Church of England website.

Church of England and Confirmation

This very special service, in 2018, will take place on Saturday 10th March at 3.30pm.

We begin our confirmation classes in January on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. There is also an opportunity to be baptised within this service – this year, at least one candidate will be baptised before he is confirmed.

The Confirmation Service is one for the entire chaplaincy – Amersfoort, Zwolle, Groningen, Utrecht. But we do welcome candidates from other Anglican churches, who would like to be confirmed at our service. If you attend another Anglican chaplaincy, please speak to your chaplain about this opportunity and ask him or her to contact us.

The Confirmation will be led by Bishop Rt Revd Norman Banks, who is an honorary assistant bishop in our diocese. Our service will include Holy Communion.

It will be held here in Amersfoort, at the Roman Catholic Heilig Kruis Kerk (see below for exact address details).

For more information do please contact us or Holy Trinity Utrecht, ( office@holytrinityutrecht.nl )
