‘Standing in the Gap’ Prayer Event
‘Thy Kingdom Come.’ Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer. Our prayer event:
Thursday 22nd June , 8pm – 9.15pm. ‘Standing in the Gap’ Prayer Event. We have been calling a prayer concert. Standing in the Gap, comes from the verse in Ezekiel 22:30
“I looked for a person among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land…”
To pray for others is what God is seeking when he speaks through the prophet Ezekiel…
Our prayer event is part of our vision to host quarterly such events, an evening of contemporary worship songs, intermingled with sections of intercession, where we pray for others.
Our sections of intercessions are run in different ways – some praying out loud, some prayer silently, some praying in small groups, sometimes praying as one group.
Held here at Heilige Geest Kerk.
